Former President Jimmy Carter once said, “I have one life and one chance to make it count for something. My faith demands that I do whatever I can, wherever I am, whenever I can, for as long as I can with whatever I have to try to make a difference.”
The theme for this year’s annual Nehemiah Project was “One Life. Do Something.” Nehemiah Project is a four day mission event for youth of Cherokee County. The vision of the mission project is to foster a passion for godly service in the name of Jesus.
One hundred and forty students from eight different churches divided into ten work teams that spread out through the area. The work consisted of painting, deck repair, roof repair, and other minor household construction projects. Heather Shelton, youth minister from Liberty Hill Church said, “The church hopes the program will form life-long habits of helping others.”
The community service was followed by dynamic worship and inspirational preaching. The Nehemiah Project would not be possible without the generosity of the community and support of all the adult volunteers.
